Meet the Artist
Marnie is a self-taught emerging artist living in the Redlands Shire in beautiful south-east Queensland. Marnie has been creative in one way or another from a very young age, but over the past few years she has explored her passion for painting, and now dedicates her time to this art practice.
Marnie’s paintings are influenced by collections of colour in nature, organic shapes, and the richness of the land. She enjoys the challenge of capturing emotion through her work and subject matter. Her surroundings and exposure to moments in time, whether it be visual experiences or feelings, can also influence the direction of her work and her choice to be versatile with her style. Exploring a range of media over recent years has reinforced Marnies preference to acrylics as her main choice of medium.
Marnie works from her studio in her home which is located close to bush land and the bay. She has exhibited in the Royal Queensland Show, and a variety of local art shows.
Some career highlights for Marnie include:
Clayton UTZ Art Award Brisbane Finalist 2023
The Doyles Art Award Finalist 2023
The Lethbridge Gallery 20000 Small Scale Art Award online Finalist 2023
Brisbane Rotary Art Show online Finalist 2023
“Held within every heart , is our own form of art”..
These words came to me while I was reflecting on how to best describe the connection we all have through our individual artistic journey - as a creative, or as a viewer.
Whether we are the artist holding the paint brush, or the viewer of an artists work, we are all connected by our expression of emotion. That unique feeling (or ‘our own form of art’) that is ignited when we are drawn to a certain piece of work, can only be understood by the individual. Yet this is also the core of our connection to each other, and the unspoken bond we can form through the beauty of creation.
My hope is that my work will resonate with your ‘own form of art’ and bring something special and uplifting to your home or work space.
